Risks and what to check
Every application is assessed on its own facts, and approval is not guaranteed. Read the points below before committing funds — they describe what can go wrong on this route, not what we expect to happen.
- Bonds, shares and similar instruments carry issuer, credit and market risk. Your capital is at risk and returns are not guaranteed.
- The investment has to be maintained for the permit to be maintained, so you may not be able to exit when you would prefer.
- If your base currency is not the euro, exchange-rate movements will affect the value of the holding.
- Thresholds and programme terms are set by Greek law and can change.
Before you commit
- Take independent financial advice suited to your own circumstances before subscribing.
- Obtain written confirmation that the specific instrument qualifies for this route and its exact category/threshold.
- Understand the minimum holding period, and what happens to the permit if the holding falls below the threshold.
- Confirm custody, reporting and tax treatment both in Greece and in your country of residence.
This is general information, not legal, tax or investment advice. Take independent advice from advisers qualified in Greece and in your own country of residence before making any commitment.
